Specialist interventions
Our physiotherapists deliver a full range of specialist, evidence-based interventions in your home, your child's school, or a community setting.
Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT)
An intensive, evidence-based approach for children with hemiplegia, where the stronger arm is gently constrained to encourage use and development of the affected arm and hand. Delivered as a structured, child-friendly programme.
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)
A therapeutic technique that provokes a specific active motor response through defined exercises, used to improve postural control, strength, and functional movement in children with motor delay and neurological conditions.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) Rehabilitation
Pre- and post-operative physiotherapy for children undergoing SDR surgery. Intensive strengthening, gait re-education, and functional training to maximise the outcome of surgery.
Functional Strength Training
Targeted strengthening built around the everyday tasks that matter to your child: standing, walking, climbing stairs, and keeping up with peers.
Hydrotherapy
Physiotherapy delivered in water, which supports the body and allows movement that may be difficult on land. We deliver hydrotherapy sessions at a pool arranged and funded by the family.
Rebound Therapy
The use of a trampoline to facilitate movement, build strength, and provide sensory and vestibular input. Delivered using a trampoline arranged and funded by the family.
Postural Management
A whole-body approach to supporting posture across the day, including advice on seating, sleep systems, standing frames, and positioning to protect joints and support function.
Positional Talipes and Torticollis
Early assessment and treatment of foot positioning differences and neck muscle tightness in babies, including stretching programmes and parent guidance.
Post-Operative Rehabilitation
Structured rehabilitation following orthopaedic and neurosurgical procedures, working closely with your surgical team and following their protocols.
Neuromuscular Conditions
Physiotherapy for children with muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, and other neuromuscular conditions, focused on maintaining function, comfort, and participation.
For hydrotherapy and rebound therapy, families arrange and fund the pool or trampoline. We bring the clinical expertise and deliver the session. If you are not sure whether an intervention is right for your child, please get in touch and we will talk it through with you.
